Matchbox Twenty had the idea of having their art portray a bored teenager in high school in the '70s doodling on their history book and desk.  They wanted the title for the book be their tour name, "A Brief History Of Everything Tour".  After doodling lyrics and sketches on sheets of paper and reminiscing about the glory days of high school, this art was used on outdoor signage, backdrops, VIP lanyards and packages, and online advertising.
